Regular Season Round 25: Cibona - KK Zagreb 84-88

The most interesting game of round 25 was a derby match between two teams from Croatia. Ninth ranked KK Zagreb CO won against host Cibona (12-13) 88-84. Cibona was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. KK Zagreb CO shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Croatian power forward Damir Markota (210-85, agency: World Sport Agency) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Krunoslav Simon (197-85) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four KK Zagreb CO players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Croatian center Goran Suton (209-85, college: Michigan St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Marin Rozic (201-83, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 16 points in the effort for Cibona. Cibona's coach Jasmin Repesa tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Croatian champion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cibona and Radnicki K. Cibona lost third consecutive game. KK Zagreb CO is looking forward to face higher ranked HKK Siroki WWin (#5) in Siroki Brijeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cibona will play at home against Helios in Domzale and is hoping to win this game.
