Regular Season Round 25: Vrsac - Un.Olimpija 78-75

A very interesting game took place in Vrsac. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Slovenian Union Olimpija (13-12) to thirteenth ranked Serbian Hemofarm (7-18) 78-75 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union Olimpija. It looked good early as Union Olimpija took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hemofarm had a 21-12 second period charge getting the lead and Union Olimpija was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-78. Hemofarm made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Union Olimpija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Mladen Jeremic (196-88, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points for the winners. Center Mladen Pantic (209-82, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hemofarm players scored in double figures. Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dasic (206-88, agency: Beo Basket) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Goran Jagodnik (203-74, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Union Olimpija's coach Saso Filipovski let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hemofarm moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Helios. Union Olimpija at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Hemofarm's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Cedevita in Zagreb and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
