Regular Season Round 26: Zlatorog - Krka 57-67

One of the most interesting games of round 26 was a derby match between two teams from Slovenia. The game took place in Lasko where eleventh ranked Krka won against host Zlatorog (2-24) 67-57. Zlatorog was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Krka forced 19 Zlatorog turnovers. Zlatorog was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Smiljan Pavic (210-80) notched 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Jure Balazic (204-80) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Krka's coach Aleksandar Sekulic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by Slovenian guard Luka Lapornik (195-88) did not help to save the game for Zlatorog. Guard Miha Lapornik (192-93) added 11 points for the hosts. Krka have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Slovenian champion maintains eleventh position with 9-17 record. Zlatorog lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
