Regular Season Round 11: KK Split - Buducnost 71-69

Important game to mention about took place in Split. Twelfth ranked Croatian KK Split (5-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (6-5) 71-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Buducnost. It looked good early as Buducnost took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then KK Split had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Buducnost was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-71. Center Nikola Vujcic (211-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Srdan Subotic (190-80) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four KK Split players scored in double figures. Aleksa Popovic (201-87) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Buducnost. Buducnost's coach Dejan Radonjic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KK Split moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Un.Olimpija and Krka. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with MZT Skopje and Radnicki KG. KK Split will play against higher ranked Radnicki KG (#6) in Kragujevac in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Buducnost will play at home against Zvezda in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
