Eighth ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija won a triple-overtime thriller edging 5th ranked Montenegrin Buducnost by three points 95-92 on Monday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime then Buducnost managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Un.Olimpija who were better in triple-overtime eventually winning that period 10-10. They made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Un.Olimpija forced 22 Buducnost turnovers. Buducnost was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jaka Blazic (196-90) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 assists for the winners and Australian-New Zealand center Aron Baynes (208-86, college: Washington St.) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian forward Cedomir Vitkovac (201-82, agency: Beo Basket) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Vladimir Mihailovic (193-90) scored 24 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Buducnost's coach Dejan Radonjic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Un.Olimpija have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Buducnost. Un.Olimpija will face Radnicki KG (#7) in Kragujevac in the next round. Buducnost will play on the road against Cedevita in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
