Regular Season Round 20: Igokea - Zadar 65-58
Date: February 16, 2014
No shocking result in a game in Aleksandrovac where sixth ranked Bosnian Igokea (12-8) defeated bottom-ranked Croatian KK Zadar (5-15) 65-58. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KK Zadar won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by KK Zadar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by point guard Nemanja Gordic (192-88) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Serbian power forward Uros Nikolic (207-87, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 7 points and 11 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) did not help to save the game for KK Zadar. American guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona) added 13 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Igokea have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Bosnian champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Buducnost. KK Zadar lost eighth consecutive game. KK Zadar at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Igokea's next round opponent will be Szolnok (#12) in Szolnok and are hoping to win another game.
