An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Podgorica. Second ranked Montenegrin Buducnost faced 4th placed Slovenian Un.Olimpija. Host Buducnost (8-1) defeated guests from Ljubljana (5-4) 76-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Un.Olimpija. The game was mostly controlled by Buducnost. Un.Olimpija was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buducnost dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Un.Olimpija's 42. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American-Montenegrin point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (186-82, college: St.John's, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Vladimir Dasic (207-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. Buducnost's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Alen Omic (217-92) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian point guard Marko Marinovic (183-83) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Un.Olimpija. The victory was the third consecutive win for Buducnost. Defending Montenegrin champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having just -3 point less than leader Crvena Zvezda. Un.Olimpija at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Buducnost will play against Szolnok (#6) in Szolnok in the next round. Un.Olimpija will play at home against MZT Skopje and hopes to get back on the winning track.
