Regular Season Round 10: Un.Olimpija - MZT Skopje 69-56

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (6-4) defeated 11th ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje (3-7) in Ljubljana 69-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Un.Olimpija. MZT Skopje was better in second period 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for Montenegrin-American forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Center Alen Omic (217-92) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (183-93) replied with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian Uros Lucic (207-83) added 17 points in the effort for MZT Skopje. MZT Skopje's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Un.Olimpija moved-up to fourth place. Defending FYR Macedonian champion MZT Skopje keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Un.Olimpija will face Szolnok (#7) in Szolnok in the next round. MZT Skopje will play at home against Levski Sofia (#14) and hope to win that game.
