No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Croatian Cibona (7-6) beat on the road bottom-ranked Bulgarian Levski Sofia (1-12) 74-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cibona. Levski Sofia was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Levski Sofia 38-26 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Levski Sofia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Marin Rozic (201-83, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. Swedish-Croatian forward Damir Markota (209-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Cibona players scored in double figures. Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) answered with 14 points and guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Levski Sofia. Levski Sofia's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Cibona. They moved-up to fifth place. Levski Sofia lost their fourth game in a row. Defending Bulgarian champion stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Cibona will face higher ranked Un.Olimpija (#4) in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Levski Sofia will play at home against the league's leader Crvena Zvezda (#1) and hope to win that game.
