Regular Season Round 14: Un.Olimpija - Cibona 74-77

Important game to mention about took place in Ljubljana. Fifth ranked Croatian Cibona (8-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Slovenian Un.Olimpija (8-6) 77-74 in the fight for the fourth place. Un.Olimpija was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 19-11 charge of Cibona, which allowed them to win the game. Un.Olimpija was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87) notched 16 points to lead the effort and center Jure Lalic (209-86) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by forward Dino Muric (200-90) did not help to save the game for Un.Olimpija. Croatian Paolo Marinelli (191-95) added 10 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Un.Olimpija's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cibona have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Un.Olimpija. Cibona will play against league's leader Crvena Zvezda in Beograd in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Un.Olimpija will play on the road against Cedevita in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
