Regular Season Round 16: Un.Olimpija - Crvena Zvezda 81-91

Adriatic League top team - Serbian Crvena Zvezda (16-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (8-8) in Ljubljana 91-81. Un.Olimpija was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 24-12 charge of Crvena Zvezda, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Un.Olimpija's 34 and made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Crvena Zvezda forced 22 Un.Olimpija turnovers. Un.Olimpija was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Boban Marjanovic (222-88, agency: Beo Basket) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) responded with 23 points and Serbian point guard Marko Marinovic (183-83) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crvena Zvezda have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-0 record. Un.Olimpija lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Crvena Zvezda will play against Mega Leks (#9) in Vizura in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Un.Olimpija will play on the road against Partizan in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
