Regular Season Round 18: Un.Olimpija - Mega Leks 85-75

Rather expected game in Ljubljana where 10th ranked Serbian Mega Leks (7-11) were defeated by eighth ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (9-9) 85-75. It looked good early as Mega Leks took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Un.Olimpija had a 29-18 second period charge getting the lead and Mega Leks were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-85. Center Alen Omic (217-92) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Marko Marinovic (183-83) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Mega Leks. Guard Nenad Miljenovic (194-93, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Un.Olimpija and five Mega Leks players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Un.Olimpija moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cibona. Mega Leks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Un.Olimpija's next round opponent will be Metalac (#10) in Valjevo where they are favorite. Mega Leks will play on the road against KK Zadar and hope to win that game.
