No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Hungarian Szolnok (8-10) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Bulgarian Levski Sofia (1-16) 82-61. The game without a history. Szolnok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Szolnok outrebounded Levski Sofia 41-24 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Marko Brkic (206-82, agency: Beo Basket) notched 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) supported him with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 16 points and 4 assists by Aleks Simeonov (200-93) did not help to save the game for Levski Sofia. Dimitar Anguelov (202-79, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending Hungarian champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Metalac and Krka. Levski Sofia lost eighth consecutive game. Defending Bulgarian champion stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Szolnok's next round opponent will be higher ranked Cibona (#6) in Zagreb and it may be quite challenging game. Levski Sofia will play on the road against Krka (#8) in Novo Mesto and hope to win that game.
