The game in Zadar was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Hungarian Szolnok (10-12) played at the court of eighth ranked Croatian KK Zadar (11-11). KK Zadar managed to secure a 7-point victory 71-64 on Friday. Szolnok trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 26-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 64-71 at the end of the game. KK Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Szolnok's 28. Swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) notched 11 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and center Ive Ivanov (200-85) supported him with 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 18 points and 4 assists by swingman David Vojvoda (196-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) did not help to save the game for Szolnok. American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 12 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KK Zadar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Metalac and Krka. Defending Hungarian champion Szolnok dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. KK Zadar will meet Krka (#6) in the next round. Szolnok will play against the league's second-placed Buducnost and hope to secure a win.
