Hungarian Szolnok (11-13) survived in overtime against Slovenian Un.Olimpija (13-11) by seven points 106-99 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Un.Olimpija. Un.Olimpija was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-23 charge of Szolnok, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-9. Szolnok made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman David Vojvoda (196-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and Serbian guard Miljan Rakic (195-86, agency: BeoExcell) who added 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Alen Omic (217-92) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) scored 30 points. Five Szolnok and four Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Hungarian champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zadar. Loser Un.Olimpija keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Szolnok will meet higher ranked Krka (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Un.Olimpija will play against Levski Sofia and hope to secure a win.
