Regular Season Round 17: Un.Olimpija - Cibona 67-68

A very interesting game took place in Ljubljana. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (6-11) to eleventh ranked Croatian Cibona (7-10) 68-67 on Wednesday evening. Un.Olimpija cut a 15-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Cibona made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Un.Olimpija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Filip Kruslin (198-89, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Slovenian Nebojsa Joksimovic (193-81, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 15 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Serbian Sava Lesic (205-88, agency: Beo Basket) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Sasa Zagorac (205-84, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Four Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cibona moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Un.Olimpija at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Cibona's next round opponent will be Metalac (#10) in Valjevo. Un.Olimpija will play on the road against Krka in Novo Mesto and hope to win that game.
