Regular Season Round 19: Tajfun - Zadar 66-82

Everything could happen in Sentjur at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Croatian KK Zadar and 8th ranked Slovenian Tajfun had identical 7-11 record. But Tajfun was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zadar 82-66. It looked good early as Tajfun took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then KK Zadar had a 30-12 second period charge getting the lead and Tajfun was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-82. KK Zadar players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. KK Zadar brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 4 assists. Bosnian forward Boris Barac (205-92, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Center Tomaz Bolcina (208-94) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Domen Bratoz (189-93) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for Tajfun in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Zadar (8-11) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Tajfun lost their fifth game in a row. Defending Slovenian champion dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. KK Zadar's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Cedevita in Zagreb and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tajfun will play on the road against Mega Leks (#4) in Sremska Mitrovica and hope to win that game.
