Regular Season Round 20: Buducnost - Partizan 74-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Podgorica. Third ranked Montenegrin Buducnost faced second-ranked Serbian Partizan. Host Buducnost (14-6) defeated guests from Beograd (15-5) 74-68. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Partizan won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buducnost shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Partizan only scored ten points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Partizan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Owen Klassen (208-91, college: Acadia) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. American guard J.R. Reynolds (188-84, college: Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and center Uros Lukovic (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Montenegrin champion maintains third position with 14-6 record having just six point less than leader Crvena Zvezda, which they share with Cedevita. Partizan at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Buducnost is looking forward to face Cibona (#5) in Zagreb in the next round. Partizan's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd Crvena Zvezda.
