Regular Season Round 20: Zadar - Krka 77-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Slovenian Krka and 12th ranked Croatian KK Zadar had identical 6-13 record. But KK Zadar was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Novo Mesto 83-77 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Dusko Bunic (207-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American guard Ron Curry (191-93, college: JMU, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Krka's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Serbian-Slovenian power forward Ivan Marinkovic (209-93) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Lovro Mazalin (204-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Krka (7-13) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mornar Bar. KK Zadar lost fifth consecutive game. Loser KK Zadar dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Krka will face Mega Leks (#12) in Sremska Mitrovica in the next round. KK Zadar will play on the road against Igokea in Aleksandrovac and hope to win that game.
