Regular Season Round 22: MZT Skopje - Krka 89-65

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje and 11th ranked Slovenian Krka had identical 7-14 record. This time MZT Skopje used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Novo Mesto 89-65 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by MZT Skopje. Krka was better in second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MZT Skopje shot 62.5 percent from the field. MZT Skopje had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Xavier Thames (191-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian Marko Lukovic (207-92, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Matic Rebec (181-95) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Krka's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. MZT Skopje have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending FYR Macedonian champion (8-14) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mega Leks. Krka at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. MZT Skopje will face higher ranked FMP (#7) in Beograd in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Krka will play on the road against Igokea (#6) in Aleksandrovac and hope to win that game.
