Regular Season Round 2: Mornar Bar - Partizan NIS 83-81

A very close game took place in Bar between Montenegrin Mornar Bar and Serbian Partizan. Mornar Bar (1-1) got a very close home victory over Partizan (0-2). Mornar Bar managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 on Wednesday evening. Partizan trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 24-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 81-83 at the end of the game. American-Montenegrin point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) notched 15 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and Serbian center Uros Lukovic (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Mornar Bar players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 4 assists by American point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) did not help to save the game for Partizan. Forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Partizan's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mornar Bar will meet Mega Bemax (#4) in the next round. Partizan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd FMP.
