Regular Season Round 3: Partizan NIS - FMP 87-84

A very close game took place in Beograd between Partizan and FMP. Partizan (1-2) got a very close home victory over FMP (1-2). Partizan managed to escape with a 3-point win 87-84 in the game for the sixth place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But FMP won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely FMP outrebounded Partizan 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) who scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Partizan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Filip Covic (178-89) who recorded 24 points and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Nigerian center Michael Ojo (216-93, college: Florida St.) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Partizan will meet KK Zadar (#8) on the road in the next round. FMP will play against Mornar Bar and hope to win that game.
