Regular Season Round 1: Split - Zrinjski HT 90-76
Date: October 11, 2017
Split used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Mostar 90-76 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-76. Zrinjski HT was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Mateo Kedzo (205-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners and Mate Kalajzic (187-98, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Split's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Croatian forward Ivan Milicevic (204-95) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and American Torrion Brummitt (207-93, college: W.Carolina) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Zrinjski HT players scored in double figures. Split will face Rogaska (#16) in Rogaska Slatina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zrinjski HT will play at home against Bosna-Royal and hope to win that game.
