Regular Season Round 5: Partizan NIS - Igokea 117-104

Everything could happen in Beograd at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Serbian Partizan and 9th ranked Bosnian Igokea had identical 2-2 record. This time Partizan used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Aleksandrovac 117-104. Partizan made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Igokea helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) who scored 30 points and 8 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American forward Dorell Wright (206-85) produced 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Serbian guard Marko Ljubicic (195-87) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Partizan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Defending Bosnian champion Igokea dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Partizan's next round opponent will be Cibona (#3) in Zagreb, which may be the game of the day. Igokea will play at home against FMP (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
