Regular Season Round 7: Partizan NIS - Crvena Zvezda 84-100

The biggest surprise of round 7 in ABA League was guest Crvena Zvezda's (5-2) easy road victory over Partizan (#4) 100-84 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Partizan. The game without a history. Crvena Zvezda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Crvena Zvezda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Partizan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Montenegrin-Serbian power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: BeoBasket) fired 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. American point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists and the other American import guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Crvena Zvezda and four Partizan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Serbian champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Cedevita. Partizan at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with FMP. Crvena Zvezda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd FMP.
