Regular Season Round 8: Olimpija - MZT Skopje 94-85

Bottom-ranked Slovenian Olimpija managed to get a third victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time defending Slovenian champion won against eleventh-ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje in Ljubljana 94-85. Olimpija looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) who scored that evening 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Gregor Hrovat (196-94) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Even 21 points and 4 assists by Croatian guard Dominik Mavra (195-94) did not help to save the game for MZT Skopje. Montenegrin Nikola Pavlicevic (192-88) added 12 points and 6 assists for the guests. Five Olimpija and four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. Defending Slovenian champion (3-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. MZT Skopje lost fourth consecutive game. Defending FYR Macedonian champion dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Olimpija will meet higher ranked Partizan (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MZT Skopje will play against the league's leader Buducnost (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
