Regular Season Round 6: Split - Bosna-Royal 107-106

A very interesting game took place in Split. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Bosnian Bosna-Royal (2-4) to tenth ranked Croatian Split (3-3) 107-106 on Friday evening. Split dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Bosna-Royal's 36. Split forced 27 Bosna-Royal turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Bosna-Royal helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) who scored 26 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Split's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Miroslav Pasajlic (190-95) who recorded 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Montenegrin center Maksim Sturanovic (210-88, agency: 011 Sports) added 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Split moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Bosna-Royal at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Split's next round opponent will be higher ranked Krka (#4) in Novo Mesto and it may be quite challenging game. Bosna-Royal will play at home against the league's leader KK Primorska (#1) and hope to win that game.
