Regular Season Round 8: Split - Ohrid AV 92-73

Bottom-ranked FYR Macedonian Ohrid AV (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-73 loss to eighth ranked Croatian Split (4-4) in Split. They also forced 24 Ohrid AV turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. The winners were led by forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Goran Filipovic (180-96) supported him with 13 points and 9 assists. Four Split players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists by Bosnian center Emir Zimic (218-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for Ohrid AV. French forward Remi Barry (203-91, college: N.Mexico St.) added 26 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Split moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rogaska and Teodo Tivat. Ohrid AV at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Split's next round opponent will be higher ranked Borac (#4) in Cacak and it may be quite challenging game. Ohrid AV will play at home against Bosna-Royal (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
