Regular Season Round 12: Cibona - Mega Bemax 95-93

A very interesting game took place in Zagreb. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Serbian Mega Bemax (4-8) to eleventh ranked Croatian Cibona (5-7) 95-93 on Monday evening. Cibona made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. 29 personal fouls committed by Mega Bemax helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory with 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Luka Zoric (211-84) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. German swingman Kostja Mushidi (195-98, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 26 points and Slovenian Vlatko Cancar (201-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 23 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mega Bemax. Five Cibona and four Mega Bemax players scored in double figures. Mega Bemax's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cibona moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Mega Bemax at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Cibona's next round opponent will be Olimpija (#10) in Ljubljana. Mega Bemax will play at home against the league's second-placed Crvena Zvezda and hope to win that game.
