Regular Season Round 11: Borac - Krka 95-80

Round 11 in ABA League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Cacak where host Serbian Borac (8-3) beat league's leader Slovenian Krka (8-3) 95-80 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Krka. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Borac made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Krka outrebounded Borac 39-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Ilija Djokovic (191-96) who scored 21 points and 5 assists. Marko Stojadinovic (204-89) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Borac players scored in double figures. Croatian forward Dino Cinac (201-88, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Croatian guard Paolo Marinelli (191-95) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Borac have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Krka. Krka will play next round against Lovcen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Borac will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Ohrid AV at home.
