Regular Season Round 16: Mornar Bar - Olimpija 101-81

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Slovenian Olimpija (5-11) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar (9-7) 101-81 on Saturday. Mornar Bar outrebounded Olimpija 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Guard Nemanja Vranjes (187-88) fired 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Montenegrin point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Five Mornar Bar players scored in double figures. Swingman Domen Lorbek (198-85) produced 19 points and American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mornar Bar have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-7 record. Olimpija lost sixth consecutive game. Defending Slovenian champion keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Mornar Bar will face KK Zadar (#6) on the road in the next round. Olimpija will play against the league's leader Buducnost (#1) in Podgorica and hope to win that game.
