Regular Season Round 16: KK Primorska - Split 86-98

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Slovenian KK Primorska (11-5) against seventh ranked Croatian Split (8-8) on Wednesday night. Host KK Primorska was defeated by Split in Koper 98-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KK Primorska. Split dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KK Primorska's 30 and made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. KK Primorska was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Mateo Kedzo (205-84) supported him with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 21 points by Mirko Mulalic (195-88) did not help to save the game for KK Primorska. Nejc Zupan (201-96) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Five Split and four KK Primorska players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Split maintains seventh position with 8-8 record. KK Primorska at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. They share the position with Krka and Borac. Split will play against Bosna-Royal (#11) in Sarajevo in the next round. KK Primorska will play on the road against Vrsac (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
