Regular Season Round 19: FMP - Crvena Zvezda 77-100

One of the most interesting games of round 19 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia/FMP-Beograd/8969. The game took place in Beograd where first ranked Crvena Zvezda outleveled host FMP (9-10) 100-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FMP. Crvena Zvezda shot 62.7 percent from the field and made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Crvena Zvezda especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. FMP was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Slovenian center Alen Omic (216-92) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Filip Covic (178-89) answered with 19 points and 5 assists and power forward Dragan Apic (206-95) added 11 points in the effort for FMP. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Crvena Zvezda have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Serbian champion maintains first place with 16-3 record. FMP at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Zadar. Crvena Zvezda will play against KK Zadar (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. FMP will play against Mega Bemax in Sremska Mitrovica and hopes to get back on the winning track.
