Regular Season Round 17: Bosna-Royal - Split 77-75

A very close game took place in Sarajevo between Bosnian Bosna-Royal and Croatian Split. Eleventh ranked Bosna-Royal (5-12) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Split (8-9). Bosna-Royal managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Split. They outrebounded Split 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. Montenegrin center Maksim Sturanovic (210-88, agency: 011 Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American forward Jamir Hanner (203-91, college: Keiser) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Mateo Kedzo (205-84) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Split's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bosna-Royal maintains eleventh place with 5-12 record. Loser Split keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Lovcen and Dynamic BG. Bosna-Royal will meet higher ranked KK Primorska (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Split will play against the league's second-placed Krka (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
