Regular Season Round 2: Buducnost - Crvena Zvezda 71-87

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Montenegrin Buducnost (0-1) in Podgorica on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Serbian Crvena Zvezda (1-0) 87-71. Crvena Zvezda dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Buducnost's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. German center Maik Zirbes (208-90, agency: BeoBasket) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Four Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. Slovenian center Alen Omic (216-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Bosnian point guard Nemanja Gordic (193-88, agency: BeoBasket) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crvena Zvezda is looking forward to face Krka (#3) in Novo Mesto in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Buducnost will play on the road against Igokea (#2) in Aleksandrovac and is hoping to win this game.
