Regular Season Round 4: MZT Skopje - Lovcen 100-90

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Montenegrin Lovcen (1-3) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje (3-1) 100-90 on Wednesday. Lovcen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Lester Medford (178-93, college: Baylor) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import guard James Woodard (191-94, college: Tulsa) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. MZT Skopje's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Aleksa Popovic (201-87) produced 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Milos Popovic (198-98) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five MZT Skopje and four Lovcen players scored in double figures. MZT Skopje moved-up to third place, which they share with Spars Sarajevo. Lovcen lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. MZT Skopje will face bottom-ranked Zrinjski HT (#12) in Mostar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lovcen will play at home against Borac (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
