Regular Season Round 6: MZT Skopje - Split 104-87

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Croatian Split (4-2) against fifth ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje (4-2) on Thursday night. Visiting Split was defeated by MZT Skopje in Skopje 104-87. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. MZT Skopje players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American point guard Lester Medford (178-93, college: Baylor) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Serbian Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 18 points. Even 19 points and 7 assists by Mate Kalajzic (187-98, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Split. Forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four MZT Skopje and five Split players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MZT Skopje moved-up to third place, which they share with Split and Sutjeska. MZT Skopje will play against Vrsac (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Split will play against Borac (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
