Regular Season Round 8: Lovcen - Zrinjski HT 83-73

Very expected game when 12th ranked Bosnian Zrinjski HT (1-7) lost to seventh ranked Montenegrin Lovcen (4-4) in Cetinje 73-83 on Wednesday. Lovcen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Milos Popovic (198-98) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian Nemanja Todorovic (206-91) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lovcen players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by Bosnian power forward Aleksandar Todorovic (206-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for Zrinjski HT. Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (196-90) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lovcen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sutjeska and Dynamic VP. Zrinjski HT lost third consecutive game. Defending Bosnian champion stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Vrsac. Lovcen will meet higher ranked Split (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zrinjski HT will play against Helios Suns (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
