Regular Season Round 9: Mornar Bar - Igokea 97-103

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar (2-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Bosnian Igokea (4-5) 103-97 on Monday. Igokea made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Igokea outrebounded Mornar Bar 37-23 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Tomislav Zubcic (212-90) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. American-Croatian point guard Oliver Lafayette (188-84, college: Houston, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who recorded 21 points and point guard Nemanja Vranjes (187-88) added 20 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Igokea moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Partizan NIS and FMP. Mornar Bar lost their fifth game in a row. Defending Montenegrin champion stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Igokea will face Partizan (#6) in Beograd in the next round. Mornar Bar will play on the road against FMP (#5) in Beograd and hope to win that game.
