Regular Season Round 12: Vrsac - Split 80-96

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Serbian Vrsac (1-11) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Croatian Split (7-5) 96-80 on Wednesday. Split forced 22 Vrsac turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Mateo Kedzo (205-84) who scored 19 points. Forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Split players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (180-96) who recorded 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Milan Munizaba (197-98) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Split maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Vrsac lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Split will meet at home Dynamic VP (#8) in the next round. Vrsac will play against Helios Suns (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
