Regular Season Round 13: Vrsac - Helios Suns 74-106

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Serbian Vrsac (1-12) was crushed at home by tenth ranked Slovenian Helios Suns (5-8) 106-74. Helios Suns dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vrsac's 40. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Vrsac's players. Serbian center Djoko Salic (211-95) nailed 28 points for the winning side and Serbian guard Miroslav Pasajlic (191-95) accounted for 25 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Helios Suns' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Dusan Ognjenovic (216-91) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (180-96) added 17 points respectively for Vrsac in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helios Suns moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Zrinjski HT. Vrsac lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Helios Suns' next round opponent will be higher ranked Borac (#7) in Cacak and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vrsac will play on the road against Dynamic VP (#8) in Beograd and hope to win that game.
