Regular Season Round 16: Crvena Zvezda - FMP 79-62

One of the most interesting games of round 16 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia/Crvena-Zvezda-MTS-Beograd/1555. The game took place in Beograd where top-ranked Crvena Zvezda won against visiting FMP (6-10) 79-62. Crvena Zvezda made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) who scored that evening 12 points and 4 assists and Ognjen Dobric (200-94, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 14 points. Even 11 points by Marko Jeremic (192-91) did not help to save the game for FMP. Forward Zoran Paunovic (200-0) added 8 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crvena Zvezda (16-0) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending Serbian champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. FMP lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Igokea and Mornar Bar. Crvena Zvezda will meet league's second-placed Cedevita in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. FMP will play against Igokea (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
