Regular Season Round 17: Partizan NIS - Mega Bemax 98-86

One of the most interesting games of round 17 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Beograd where fourth ranked Partizan won against visiting Mega Bemax (9-8) 98-86. Partizan shot 63.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Partizan players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Mali-French forward Bandja Sy (204-90, college: N.Mexico St., agency: BeoBasket) nailed 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Partizan players scored in double figures. Nikola Miskovic (207-99, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 30 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Bosnian swingman Edin Atic (201-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Mega Bemax in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Partizan (11-6) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fourth place. Mega Bemax at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Partizan will play against Cibona (#6) in Zagreb in the next round. Mega Bemax will play at home against KK Zadar and hopes to get back on the winning track.
