Regular Season Round 4: Sloboda Tuzla - Split 84-73

Bosnian Sloboda Tuzla can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Croatian Split (2-2) 84-73 on Wednesday. Sloboda Tuzla dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Split's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Amar Gegic (200-98) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Denzel Gregg (200-95, college: St.Bonaventure) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Sloboda Tuzla players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) responded with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Darko Bajo (209-99, agency: BeoBasket) scored 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sloboda Tuzla (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Novi Pazar and Dynamic VP. Loser Split dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Sloboda Tuzla will meet higher ranked Helios Suns (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Split will play against Spars Sarajevo and hope to secure a win.
