Regular Season Round 17: Mega Bemax - Krka 88-61

Bottom-ranked Serbian Mega Bemax managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Slovenian Krka in Beograd 88-61. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 27-point difference suggests that Mega Bemax is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Mega Bemax outrebounded Krka 37-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Marko Simonovic (211-99) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Nemanja Nenadic (197-94) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian-Bosnian forward Marko Josilo (200-92) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and Luka Lapornik (195-88, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Four Krka players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mega Bemax (4-13) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Zadar. Krka at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Igokea. Mega Bemax will meet higher ranked Primorska (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Krka will play against Cibona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
