Regular Season Round 18: Buducnost - Igokea 99-59

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Montenegrin Buducnost as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Partizan NIS) loss. Buducnost smashed 8th ranked Bosnian Igokea in Podgorica 99-59. Buducnost dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Igokea's 38. They outrebounded Igokea 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Buducnost players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Igokea's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Kosovan-American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Danilo Nikolic (206-93, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. Serbian Sava Lesic (205-88) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American Rashad Vaughn (198-96, college: UNLV) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Igokea. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Buducnost have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Partizan NIS. Igokea at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Cibona and Krka. Igokea will play next round against Krka trying to get back on the winning streak. Buducnost will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Partizan NIS at Beograd.
