Regular Season Round 19: Split - Sutjeska 87-79

The game in Split was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Montenegrin Sutjeska (9-10) played at the court of sixth ranked Croatian Split (10-9). Split managed to secure a 8-point victory 87-79 on Wednesday. Split made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game, while Sutjeska only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Sutjeska 40-24 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Split especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Sutjeska was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jamel Morris (193-92, college: Fairmont St.) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Five Split players scored in double figures. Bosnian point guard Drasko Knezevic (185-93) produced 27 points and 7 assists and Nikola Pavlicevic (192-88) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Split moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rogaska. Loser Sutjeska dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Split will face Rogaska (#5) in Rogaska Slatina in the next round. Sutjeska will play at home against Helios Suns and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
