Regular Season Round 21: Igokea - Cibona 84-97

There was a small surprise in Aleksandrovac where tenth ranked Croatian Cibona (7-14) defeated 8th ranked Bosnian Igokea (7-14) 97-84. Cibona shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Slovenian point guard Matic Rebec (183-95, agency: PEPI SPORT) nailed 16 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Ivan Novacic (201-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) accounted for 16 points. Cibona's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian Sava Lesic (205-88) added 15 points respectively for Igokea in the defeat. Five Igokea players scored in double figures. Defending Croatian champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Igokea. Cibona's next round opponent will be league's leader Partizan NIS in Beograd and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
