Regular Season Round 21: Zadar - Primorska 99-79
Date: March 8, 2020
Bottom-ranked Croatian KK Zadar managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Slovenian Primorska 99-79. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that KK Zadar was well-prepared to that game. KK Zadar forced 19 Primorska turnovers. KK Zadar players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Australian-Croatian swingman Dominic Gilbert (198-96, college: UBC, agency: Slash Sports) nailed 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Domagoj Vukovic (206-93) accounted for 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). KK Zadar's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bosnian swingman Aleksandar Lazic (203-96, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-93) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Primorska in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KK Zadar (6-15) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Krka and Mega Bemax. Defending Slovenian champion Primorska keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. KK Zadar's next round opponent will be higher ranked Crvena Zvezda (#3) in Beograd and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
