Regular Season Round 1: Mega BG - SC Derby 101-68

Mega used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Podgorica 101-68 on Sunday night. Mega shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by SC Derby's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mega made 8 blocks. American guard Scoochie Smith (188-94, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 9 points and 12 assists for the winners and French Malcolm Cazalon (198-1, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Four Mega players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian guard Justin Edwards (194-92, college: Kansas St., agency: Inception Sports) responded with 17 points and American-Puerto Rican guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: CCSU, agency: Inception Sports) scored 17 points and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mega will meet Cibona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. SC Derby will play against Zadar and hope to win that game.
